Silicone bakeware is easy to work with, non stick, and makes baking fun!
Silicone bakeware sets have been around for several years. At first I was a skeptic and figured silicone bakeware wouldn’t do as good of a job as my traditional bakeware.
Silicone Bakeware Sets Are In Stores Everywhere
After seeing the silicone bakeware in stores for quite awhile, I realized silicone wasn’t going away so there must be something to it. I decided to give the silicone cupcake trays a try. My family loves muffins and cupcakes. I’m always being asked to make cupcakes for my kids school and fundraisers so I figured the silicone cupcake pan would be a great way to give silicone bakeware a try.
Here’s my honest review of my first time using my silicone bakeware cupcake pan:
I put the silicone cupcake pan on a cookie sheet. I did this because silicone is so flexible and I knew there was no way I’d be able to move the cupcake pan full of batter into the oven without making a mess.
My cupcakes baked up like normal. There weren’t any issues and having the cupcake pan on the cookie sheet made transferring the cupcake pan full of batter to the oven a breeze!
The results of baking with silicone bakeware: The cupcakes turned out wonderful! I have no complaints at all. What I really liked was the ease of cleanup. I didn’t have to scrub burnt on batter off the cupcake sheet, since it’s made of silicone any baked on batter just sort off fell of in hot soapy water.
I purchased my silicone cupcake pan from Walmart. I didn’t pay a lot of money for it either. I now use silicone almost exclusively for baking. I love the stuff and highly recommend it to everyone! Click here to read more reviews from real people on silicone bakeware sets.
If you are on the fence about trying silicone bakeware, I think you should buy just one piece and give it a try, like I did. Most likely, you will be just as surprised as I was, with how great your baked goods turn out and easy silicone cleans up.

Baking With Silicone Bakeware

Many people rave about how wonderful silicone bakeware is for baking. I happen to be one of those people and I’m sure you will too after you give silicone bakeware a try.
Silicone Bakeware – Fun Bright Colors
Silicone’s comes in fun bright colors and is non stick and super easy to use. When silicone first came out I was reluctant to believe all the hype, I actually thought silicone bakeware was a fad. So I decided to give silicone a try and boy was I wrong!
Silicone Bakeware – The Rumors are True!
Everything I had heard about silicone bakeware was true! Silicone really is easy to clean up and it’s very easy to bake with.
I started with a silicone spatula and quickly grew to love it. Making scrambled eggs in a non stick pan is a joy with my silicone spatula and I don’t have to worry about my non-stick pan getting scratched up or my spatula melting due to the high cooking heat.
Giving Silicone Bakeware a Try
Since the spatula worked out so well for me, I decided to venture into silicone bakeware and see what that was like. I picked up a silicone cupcake sheet from Walmart and tested it out with some cupcakes.
Silicone Bakeware is Flexible
I found the silicone cupcake sheet to be very flexible, so flexible it needed some support. So I put the cupcake pan on a cookie sheet and then proceeded to fill up the cupcake pan.
My cupcakes browned like they would in a tin cupcake pan. When they were done cooking I removed the cookie sheet from the oven with the cupcake pan still on it. The silicone bakeware cooled down quickly. In less than 5 minutes the cupcake pan was cool enough to touch without getting burnt.
After about 5 minutes or so, I flipped the cupcake pan upside down and the cupcakes tumbled out easily.
The cupcakes tasted delicious with no hit of any rubbery taste.
Clean up was easy. I simply put the silicone cupcake pan in a sink of hot soapy water and the pan basically cleaned itself.
If you would like to try and make some cupcakes using silicone bakeware, I recommend purchasing your silicone bakeware from Amazon.com. Here’s some of my favorites from Amazon.

Silicone Kitchen Tools Make Cooking Easier

Silicone kitchen tools are finding their way into most kitchens
Silicone offers many benefits which traditional kitchen utensils do not. Silicone is heat resistant, stain resistant and will not retain food orders.
Silicone bakeware will not lose it’s shape, you can store it folded up and it will bounce back to it’s original shape.
Silicone Kitchen Tools
Silicone is available in many shapes and colors. Most traditional kitchen utensils can now be found in a silicone version. Most people find once they try silicone they want more. Why? Because clean up is so easy. Also since silicone can be used at high temps it’s more versatile over traditional plastic utensils. Another great thing to love about silicone is the fact that silicone utensils won’t scratch your non stick pans and because they are heat resistant you won’t have to worry about them melting.
My silicone spatula is probably the most used utensil in my house. I love the fact that it won’t melt at high temperatures and won’t stain, not even spaghetti sauce will stain my silicone spatula.
Basting brushes, spatulas, spoons, trivets, pot holders, turkey lifters, pull apart cake pans, cupcake pans, meat loaf pans, non stick sheets, strainers, funnels, rolling pins, cake pans, pancake flippers, baby spoons, and tongs, are just some of the many forms of silicone bakeware and silicone utensils which are available.
If you are ready to make the switch over to silicone or at least give silicone products a try, make sure the silicone you purchase comes from a reputable manufacturer.
Silicone utensils and silicone bakeware can be found in stores everywhere. You can also find some wonderful deals on silicone kitchen tools at online retailers such as Amazon.
Give silicone bakeware and silicone kitchen tools a try and you will see why they are so popular.
